Earlier this month our team in Mongolia sponsored AmCham鈥檚 200 tree planting initiative aimed at supporting the 鈥楤illion Trees鈥 campaign.聽聽
The nationwide campaign was announced by the President Ukhnaa Khurelsukh at the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Glasgow in 2021, committed to planting and growing one billion trees in Mongolia by 2030.

The Mongolian business community have been supporting the President鈥檚 call as part of their corporate social responsibility. Major businesses including our current clients, Oyu Tolgoi and Energy Resources, have committed to planting 20-120 million trees by 2030.
The initiative aims to help combat climate change and would play a significant role in increasing forest cover by 9 per cent in the country and reducing desertification by 4 per cent once implemented. As of today, more than 70 per cent of Mongolia鈥檚 territory is affected by desertification and land degradation.
